Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) Plc, a multinational bottling firm dedicated to production, distribution, and marketing of Coca-Cola products, has reportedly inked a multi-year agreement with IBM. The deal would help the company to accelerate its transformation to an open hybrid cloud infrastructure using Red Hat Enterprise and Red hat OpenShift.
Sources cite that the company has partnered with IBM to decrease its operational expenses, enhance IT resiliency, and improve analytics and AI in its daily operations to bring in-depth business insights and offer greater service to its millions of customers.
With this partnership, CCEP is aiming to streamline its current IT infrastructure to develop a platform for business processes, data, and technology. This will help the company to leverage data analytics, AI, and IoT technologies to offer new insights across its operations to increase efficiency.
According to sources familiar with the knowledge of the matter, IBM Services will help CCEP to transform into an IBM hybrid cloud environment. CCEP will use IBM public cloud and several large SAP workloads to transform its IT operations.
IBM will also offer CCEP with a single point of control and consolidated view over its complete IT infrastructure.
Speaking on the deal, Peter Brickley who is the Chief Information Officer at Coca-Cola European Partners said that the company’s successful partnership with IBM over few years has prompted it to take the next step in strategic cloud transformation.
Mr. Brickley added that the selection of IBM’s hybrid cloud infrastructure with Red Hat OpenShift helps the company to optimize across several public cloud platforms as per the future needs of the company.
For the record, CCEP and IBM commenced their journey to the cloud in 2018, when IBM efficiently transferred one-of CCEP’s workloads from US data center to IBM Cloud in Europe.
