Chinese tech major, ZTE, has reportedly announced that it will roll out its Axon 20 5G smartphone on September 1, 2020, in China. The announcement has been made on, Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, and is accompanied by an image that unveils the front facia of the ZTE Axon 20 5G in a partial manner. As suggested by leaks and rumors, the phone does not appear to have either a pop-up camera, a traditional notch, or a punch-hole on its display, but is anticipated to have a unique under-display camera feature.
As per sources, the ZTE Axon 20 smartphone will be China’s first commercialized smartphone with an under-display front-facing camera feature. Prior to the confirmation of the existence of the device, the phone has been apparently leaked on several occasions, state sources.
Further, the ZTE Axon 20 5G smartphone is powered by an octa-core processor, probably Snapdragon 765G, clocked at a frequency of 2.4GHz. The phone is said to be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options and 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB RAM options. The phone is additionally speculated to run on the Android 10 operating system and has a 4120 mAh battery that would support fast charging.
According to the TENAA certification platform, the Axon 20 5G phone will have an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 6.92-inch OLED display, having Full HD + resolution. The phone will be available in two colors, blue and white, and its 32MP selfie camera will be hidden under the display. The phone’s rear is, further, speculated to have a quad camera setup with a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and two 2MP units, anticipated to be depth-measuring and macro cameras.
The ZTE Axon 20 5G appears to have the specifications of a mid-range smartphone and is estimated to cost an equivalent of INR 30,000 to INR 40,000 in China.
