Finnish telecom operator and consumer electronics major, Nokia, has reportedly announced that it has officially completed the sale of its EPON/DPoE and DOCSIS Distributed Access Architecture portfolios to Vecima Networks Inc.
The deal follows the originally announced planned acquisition when Sumit Kumar, the President and CEO of Vecima Networks, had stated that Nokia’s portfolio is in perfect alignment with Vecima’s strategy to deliver independent, open and future-proof cable access solutions that promote a multi-vendor ecosystem. He had also stated that the addition of these products would widen the company’s DAA platform, thereby adding 10G-EPON products to its portfolio.
