Fantasy gaming platform GoodGamer secures $2.5M in a seed round

Good Gamer Corp, the Vancouver-based fantasy gaming and technology firm, has reportedly secured C$2.5 million in a seed funding round led by an unrevealed group of investors. The company is planning to use the gross proceeds from the financing to support user acquisition.

For the record, the GoodGamer app is a skilled-based fantasy gaming platform that allows users to win real prize money. Situated in Vancouver, British Columbia, GoodGamer is the parent company of the GoodGamer app. The company had launched this daily fantasy sports and e-sports gaming app across India in September 2020 to sync up with the IPL (Indian Premier League). Since then, it has registered more than 250,000 users.

Sources cite that GoodGamer’s fantasy gaming platform is also the world’s first app that offers proposition contests. These contests are based on particular events during the match that is not dependent on the final result. With this funding, the company is planning to add numerous never seen before features in its fantasy gaming app in forthcoming months including detailed player injury alters and reports, AI-based lineup optimizer, and private contests in which contest creators can earn a commission for managing and creating the contest.

Speaking on which, Ravi Nagarajachar, the VP of Operations for India said that the company is introducing several new experiences and skills-based fantasy gaming styles that Indian users have not seen before including proposition contests. The company wants to help users find novel styles of skills-based contests and games that keep them entertained and challenged, he added.

Charles Creighton, CEO of GoodGamer said that with the help of seed investors, the company is now able to focus on user acquisition and scale.

For the record, GoodGamer Fantasy is currently running guaranteed 1 lakh daily prize pools with Rs.1 entry fee.
