HCL Technologies announces plans to acquire Australia-based DWS

HCL Technologies Limited (HCL), an Indian multinational information technology services and consulting firm, has reportedly announced plans to acquire Australia-based DWS Limited (DWS).

For the record, DWS is one of the leading IT, business, and management consulting firms in Australia delivering technology and business innovation to large customers across a spectrum of verticals. The company presently employees more than 700 individuals and has offices in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Canberra.

DWS recorded A$ 167.9 million in FY20 and provides a wide range of IT services including application development & support, digital transformation, program & project management, and consulting. Sources cite that the deal will help HCL to enhance contribution to digital initiatives in New Zealand and Australia while strengthening the company’s client portfolio across key industries.

Speaking on the acquisition, Michael Horton, Exec Vice President and Country Manager for New Zealand & Australia at HCL Technologies said that the company is excited for this expansion in New Zealand and Australia and is confident that the company’s combined strength would further boost the digital revolution journeys for their end customers.

He added that the company is looking forward to welcoming the DWS employees to HCL and would create improved global carrier and global opportunities for them.

For the record, HCL presently employs around 1600 people in major cities, including Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, and Sydney. The company has been offering cutting-edge technology solutions to some of the nation’s biggest companies and is looking forward to strengthening its exclusive differentiated offerings and delivery model in the region. The deal is anticipated to close in the last month of 2020 and is subject to regulatory approval.
