American medical technology firm, Novarad Corp. has announced its alliance with CureMetrix Inc., a California-based company that offers artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions for radiology, to provide AI-integrated mammography tools.

Under this partnership, Novarad – which provides industry-leading medical solutions and imaging software – will integrate its imaging tools for mammography with the AI-enabled women’s health series of tools provided by CureMetrix.

Furthermore, it will also be the exclusive PACS distributor of CureMetrix AI for hospitals that offer small and midsized imaging services all across the U.S.

David Grandpre, Senior Director of Product at Novarad, explained that by combining their existing mammography tools with the highly trained and proven algorithms of CureMetrix, radiologists will be able to streamline their workflow, reduce false positives as well as improve the ability to diagnose breast cancer at earlier stages in patients.

Mr. Grandpre stated that the company’s vision of transforming imaging technology is parallel to CureMetrix’s mission of supporting and advancing women’s health and that it is looking forward to providing mammography integrated with CureMetrix’s AI and be able to save more lives.

Along with that, Novarad will also be collaborating with CureMetrix for the implementation of cmAngio™, a new AI software that can help doctors assess the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) in women with the help of their mammogram.

CureMetrix CEO, Navid Alipour had stated that integrating their firm’s AI solution with Novarad’s will enable radiologists to diagnose breast cancer earlier, as well as accurately, while doctors will be able to identify the risk of CHD in women as well.

Mr. Alipour further added that its solution will also have a positive effect on the performance of physicians using Novarad’s platforms, which will result in enhanced outcomes both clinically and financially for now as well as for the future.

As per the latest studies and findings, artificial intelligence-based innovations and solutions have shown to have a faster reading time in reviewing mammograms, along with an improved rate in cancer detection and accurate diagnoses.
