Playground TV Launches a Safe Multilingual Streaming Service for Kids

Playground TV is introducing a dedicated multilingual streaming service for children, which is reported to feature a broad variety of content from kids aged two to nine years. The service is initially launching with fourteen animated channels in English, Hindi, French, Spanish, Persian, and Mandarin.

The service will be free for viewers and backed by carefully chosen adverts, followed by a subscription service that will give personalized features like allowing the viewers to create a playlist, follow specific channels, and remove the adverts.

The founder of Playground TV, Daniel Nordberg talked about the challenges faced by parents while accessing children’s channels outside of the country of origin. He expressed that the enterprise is aware of the crucial role that language plays in the development of pre-school kids and for parents having different native languages than their residing country. To connect kids with their cultural heritage, it is very important to find various ways.

According to the reports, in 2000, the number of people residing out of their country of birth expanded by 41% from 2000 to 2016 growing to 244 million, with over half in North America and Europe. Playground TV acknowledged the necessity to provide appropriate and relevant video content for kids with multilingual families.

In 2019, India was the leading country of origin of migrants across the globe, with a 17.5 million strong spread, as per the sources. Playground collaborated with Cosmos Maya for Indian content through its Wow Kidz channel along with over 10 other streamed content channels in various languages. Initially, the service has over 100 series, and 5,000 and more shows are projected to follow.

Cosmos-Maya’s CEO and corporate owner of Wow Kidz channel, Anish Mehta expressed his views about the new streaming service and stated that the Indian animation segment is producing a plethora of content that is traveling worldwide. This collaboration shows an exciting opportunity to provide the enterprise’s bestselling content titles in numerous languages.
