Samsung Electronics Co., the South Korean multinational electronics company, has reportedly teamed up with renowned filmmakers to produce films with its Galaxy smartphones with an intention to better promote its devices.
Stephanie Choi, Samsung Electronics Mobile Communications Business’s Head of Marketing, stated that with the latest Galaxy series the company aims to show its users that all they need is creative thinking and the company’s flagship Galaxy smartphones to make amazing films instead of some fancy studio equipment and big budgets.
Apparently, to market its advanced technologies and encourage Samsung device users to showcase their creativity using the Galaxy devices, Samsung has launched a campaign called ‘Filmed #withGalaxy.’ The first participant of the said campaign would be Joe Wright, who is the renowned director behind the classic and iconic romantic drama ‘Pride and Prejudice'.
Speculatively, Samsung has stated that Wright shot his latest feature, ‘Princess and Peppernose’, a narrative about a rebellious princess searching for love, solely through the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G smartphone.
Samsung further added that Joe Wright and his team particularly used the 13mm Ultra-wide lens of Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra to capture the creation of the aforementioned musical using live-action choreography and puppetry.
In tandem with Wright’s film, Samsung will additionally release works of other world-renowned artists such as Sha Mo, a director from China who is popularly known for making ‘My Huckleberry Friends’ and ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart.’
Like Wright, Sha Mo also used Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G smartphone to film his latest children-oriented drama ‘Kids of Paradise’. The story revolves around kids studying in a small school located in the countryside. Sha Mo used the Director’s Mode in the smartphone to capture three distinctive shots at once to unwind a professional filming experience.
Mo stated that the smartphone allowed him to shoot every intricate detail and angle that was simply not possible to capture with a bigger camera.
Samsung reportedly stated that both films shot by the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G smartphone will be shown at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) this month.
