SNC-Lavalin, a Canadian engineering company, has reportedly entered a 3-year MSA (Master Services Agreement) with an energy services & delivery company, Avangrid Service Company. The contract was valued at $15 million for the 3-year period.
SNC-Lavalin, which was founded in 1911, is an integrated professional services & project management company with offices across the globe. The company significantly connects technology, data, and people to offer world-leading concepts and projects. It also offers comprehensive innovative solutions to manage asset lifecycle, holding a wide-ranging expertise in sustaining capital, decommissioning, operations and maintenance, project and construction management, procurement, design and engineering, intelligent networks and cybersecurity, and consulting and advisory. These services are then delivered to clients in 4 strategic sectors, i.e. engineering design & project management (EDPM), resources, nuclear, and infrastructure.
The recent agreement was signed with an objective to deliver the owner’s engineering services for various electric capital projects that have been developed and realized by the U.S. electric companies of Avangrid. Under this agreement, SNC-Lavalin will offer engineering resources for disciplines to Avangrid, which include civil, protection & control, electrical, and transmission lines. The contract is within the SNCL Engineering Services that form the basis of its strategy to ensure greater growth and profitability.
SNC-Lavalin, as the owner’s engineer, will focus on protecting the interests of Avangrid during the interactions and review of other contractors. In addition, the company will perform the conceptual design as well as assist clients in the construction phase.
